Care Quality Commission website and ratings posters

TAGS:

Another long contract began taking hold of a redesign (and rebuild) of the main website for the Care Quality Commission, responsible for independently regulating health and social care in England. The initial push was a tight deadline, getting the design and assets ready for a relaunch – which obviously had to impact as little as possible on the day-to-day use of the website.

During my time there I got to work on a responsive version of the website for smartphone and tablet sizes. Originally set out by a UX designer but descoped, I reworked the designs, simplifying them further – and even ended up completely amending the high-fidelity wireframes as a result (including php and jQuery assets).

Other projects included designing a timeline feature, and working on the publishing interface for report contributors.

It also included a poster design for premise ratings that could be automatically output as a printable PDF. Even today you can still see it’s use in the ‘wild’.
