Creative developer work for ASOS
Sometimes it’s a lot harder to discuss the less ‘creative’ end of your work, but recently I realised I hadn’t mentioned my work at ASOS once on the site — even though I’ve been helping out there for a while now.
Keeping a website rolling is often as important as the design itself — especially when it’s for one of the fastest growing online fashion retailers, with international sites for US, Germany and France (and more to come by the end of the year) — and that growth has been reflected in the pace of work, let me tell you!
My work on ASOS.com has included coding homepages, features and emails, ensuring they work across all the currently supported languages. This includes different levels of jQuery/JavaScript interaction, and part of my input was integrating a feed from the ASOS blogs into the homepages.
It’s been great working with such a nice, talented team, and along the way I’d like to think I’ve imparted some of my knowledge to help the guys here deal with the workload and sort some of the processes behind the scenes to help them work more effectively.
Yeah, you know sometimes it hard to brag about the front-end development part of a job, but I must be doing something right: my contract’s been rolling on since August last year…
